This museum is noted for its exhibitions that strike a balance
between expertise and popularity. Exhibitions of the works of famous artists
like Chagall, Picasso, Matisse, Magritte, Gogh, etc., are on display for the
general public. The International Media Art Biennale and the Special Spring
Exhibition, etc., are held for art experts. It has also held the Pompidou
Exhibition, the Seoul Fine Arts Exhibition, and the Korea Abstract Paintings
Exhibition. It also keeps and displays 93 paintings produced by Cheon Gyeong-ja,
one of the country’s most renowned painters.
In the fall, the museum holds a free concert in its front yard
in the crisp autumnal weather. Well-known musicians specializing in the
classics, jazz and pop present their sweet melodies at the concert.
