③ About Yongin MBC Dramia

Yongin MBC Dramia opened on June 21, 2011. The name Dramia is a combination of the words “drama” and “utopia.” It is the main filming set for MBC’s historical dramas. The filming set covers 29,421 square meters.
Korean dramas including Jumong, Queen Seondeok of Silla, Yi San, Dong Yi, and The Duo were filmed at Yongin MBC Dramia, and the filming schedule is currently fully booked.
The Daejanggeum Park, another filming set and a popular tourist destination, was closed in December 2011. The facility will be moved to MBC Dramia.
★Tips by VisitKorea ★
In general, there is no filming scheduled on Mondays and Tuesdays, so if you want to see the dramas being filmed, visit on other days. On weekdays, there are on average about 100 to 200 visitors; on weekends, there are about 500 tourists.

④ Start the tour!

A course (1.5 hours), B course (2.5 hours)
First visit the market street. The commoners’ quarter, where you can see commoners’ homes of the past and experience their lives, makes you feel like you’ve actually been transported to the past.
Experience a traditional seesaw and tuho folk games, or take pictures with small props. Also visit the old imprisonment chambers that are often featured in historical dramas.

⑤ Learn about filming locations

Around the set, you will find panels introducing filming locations. These panels will tell you the dramas that the set has appeared in (descriptions available in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese).
The same sets are often used in different dramas.
★Tips by VisitKorea★
This set is actually a restroom! Made in hanok style, it blends in perfectly with the surrounding ambiance.

⑥ Take a rest at the king’s palace (the main building)

Walk to the center of the set, where you can take pictures against set backgrounds or put on traditional costumes for a composite picture. There are also a traditional tea shop and souvenir shop.
Pick out and try on a traditional costume from those of Queen Seondeok of Silla, Dong Yi, Yi San, and Daejanggeum. The most popular ones are those from Dong Yi and Yi San. There are also male costumes available. (Participation fee is 20,000 won / price includes an A4-sized composite photo.)
★Tips by VisitKorea★
The costumes are made from the same fabric as those worn in the drama. They cost between 2 million and 2.5 million won on average to make. It feels great to wear them!

⑦ To the next filming area

A road takes visitors to another filming set surrounded by trees. This set contains the drill hall where Queen Seondeok of Silla was filmed. Visitors can experience archery, flag making, top spinning and other folk games. Panels show the various personalities of the dramas filmed here.

⑧ Time to return to the present

After enjoying a time trip to the Three Kingdoms (Goguryeo, Baekje, Silla), Goryeo Dynasty, and Joseon Dynasty, it is time to return to reality. There are no taxis near Dramia, so you have to get a call taxi. Go to the ticket counter and ask for a call taxi, and they will make the call for you. (Call taxi: 031-334-3000 or 031-334-9100)
After making the call, the taxi will arrive in about ten minutes. The fare is about 9,000 won (1,000 won additional charge for call taxi service + 8,000 won for the trip = 9,000 won)

⑨ Try a regional food!

The regional specialty of Baegam is sundae (Korean black pudding). Sundae is shaped like sausage and tastes savory. In Seoul, people dip it in salt, and in Busan, they dip it in a sauce based on soy bean paste. In Baegam, they dip sundae in salted fish sauce. Try a plate of sundae (10,000 won) or sundae-guk soup (7,000 won) while you are in Baegam.
There are also samgyetang (spring chicken and ginger soup), gimbap (Korean rice rolls), and fish cake restaurants near the Baegam Terminal.
※ There are no restaurants in or near Dramia, so find a restaurant near the Baegam Terminal.

⑩ Baegam Terminal → Seoul

To return to Seoul, you will take a bus at the same bus terminal you arrived at. First, purchase a ticket before getting on the bus. There is no timetable, but there is a bus every 20 to 25 minutes. (No announcement is made upon the bus’s arrival. When a big bus comes in, show the driver your bus ticket to make sure you are on the right bus.) The bus ride back to Seoul takes about 50 minutes.
